L2DC was founded in Jan 09, 2009 by TheOne. The full name of L2DC is L2DragonClaw.

L2DC started as a fork on L2j sources because L2j had slow development and a branch of administrators and developers that parted the project in first place was bored to maintain long patches with fixes and retail features which L2J didn’t want or was too slow to commit on its SVN.

So we started our own SVN and after that carefully sync with L2j sources (or other l2j forks).

Very soon we decided to completely split out of L2j and loose some compatibility (although moving from l2j to l2dc is smooth) as L2j has many bad coded pieces of code and we started rewrite many of them (mostly to fix exploits and improve performance).

Since then we do not completely sync with L2j and its forks as our code is quite different in a big part and its either difficult or they add after some time features we have already coded in better way.

Our project is closed-source and we do not share builds but from time to time we share parts of our code with L2j (although they do not want to commit them in most).

Right now L2DC is quite different from L2j, with only common some parts of L2J code and the… Java programming language.

L2DC is made by developers and admins for developers and admins. To take part in L2DC you have to contribute decent code. If you stop contribute you are kicked out. Team is pretty big and development is very fast and right now we are at least 3 months ahead of L2j or any of its forks.

L2DC features are mostly well known from servers that use L2DC software (you may see most of them posted on this website) so we won’t discuss them right now.

L2DC performance is far better than L2j of any of its forks because we prefer to rewrite most parts of the code than doing simple hacks to get some temporary workarounds. L2DC performance is about 30% better than any other Java based Lineage 2 server software, with almost all exploits fixed and very little bugs. L2DC server load time is half of any other server software.

Our data sources are retail player info, leaked retail server files (usually Gracia Final), L2j and its forks.

Enjoy playing on L2DC servers as they cover a big branch of server gameplay types (from low rates to PvP and Faction ones), being sure you will play on an almost bug-free, very stable server software without noob admins that just download a build and install it, as all L2DC members and servers that use it are developers.
